"Hall võiks valmida vähemalt . See eeldab, et kõik töötavad koos. Ma loodan, et hall valmib seitsme aastaga. Tampere Nokia halli ehitamine võttis näiteks 12-13 aastat," selgitas Veermäe.
Multi on palju vaieldud. Nii Tallinn kui ka Tartu on huvitatud. Riigikogu liige Tanel Tein (Eesti 200) arvab, et hall peaks olema Tartus. See toetaks regiooni arengut.
"Hall Tartus laseks . Näiteks hotelle ja . See võiks aidata kaasa rohkemate inimeste elamisele Tartusse," selgitas Tein.
Tartus on Isamaa ja Reformierakonna koalitsioonileppes kirjas, et nad teevad koostööd riigiga multihalli rajamiseks.

On Monday, the Pärnu City Council sent a letter to the Estonian Olympic Committee (EOK). The letter stated that Pärnu wants to build a multihall. The multihall is an important building for the country.
The construction of the multihall was also written into Pärnu's coalition agreement. The city council believes that the multihall should be located in Pärnu. It would help develop the region. Pärnu is located between Tallinn and Riga via Rail Baltica. This makes the city an important European hub.
Helen Veermäe, project manager for the multihall at EOK, said that representatives from the Parliament and cities recently visited Finland. In Finland, they studied how the multihall business model works.
According to Veermäe, the first plan for the hall should be ready in a couple of months. The plan does not yet have a precise location. The location will be decided by the state. The project manager said that the multihall would not be ready for the 2029 European Basketball Championship.
"The hall could be completed in at least five years. This assumes that everyone works together. I hope the hall will be completed in seven years. For example, the construction of the Nokia Arena in Tampere took 12-13 years," explained Veermäe.
The location of the multihall has been much debated. Both Tallinn and Tartu are interested. MP Tanel Tein (Eesti 200) believes that the hall should be in Tartu. It would support the development of the region.
"A hall in Tartu would allow the launch of new projects. For example, hotels and economic opportunities. It could also help more people move to Tartu," Tein explained.
In Tartu, the coalition agreement between Isamaa and the Reform Party states that they will cooperate with the state to build the multihall.
Former Deputy Mayor of Tallinn Kaarel Oja (SDE) said that the multihall should be in Tallinn. He thought that the hall could be ready for the 2029 European Basketball Championship if it were a priority.
However, Tallinn's latest coalition agreement did not mention the multihall.
