On Thursday, Varro Vooglaid announced he would leave the EKRE parliamentary group but remain in parliament. He spoke of disagreements with EKRE leadership on issues like foreign and security policy.
Õhtuleht wrote that the reason was Vooglaid's YouTube video about Veterans' Month. It was claimed that Rene Kokk said: if he wants to run, EKRE must do something about Vooglaid.
Rene Kokk told ERR this was false. He said there is no conflict between him and Varro Vooglaid. They have discussed the cornflower campaign and Veterans' Month while accepting different opinions.
Kokk asked what purpose this false news serves. He believes someone wants to create confusion among conservatives. Kokk said he will decide about running in the autumn.
Varro Vooglaid wrote on social media that this topic had not been discussed in the group. He said this false news damages both his and Rene Kokk's reputation.
Since Thursday, neither Vooglaid nor EKRE leader Martin Helme has explained Vooglaid's departure from the group. Vooglaid's post was the first additional information.
