The Tallinn Administrative Court did not make a decision on Thursday regarding the planned defense industry park near Pärnu. The court wants to know more about the noise the park may generate.
The court's press representative said the decision will only come in 2026. NGOs and local residents are unhappy with the government's decision to build the park near Tõstamaa.
The court believes the park is not for national defense. Therefore, industrial noise regulations apply. However, when planning the park, noise levels were not sufficiently considered. The government must now provide more evidence about the noise.
After this, the complainants will be able to voice their opinions. Then the court will make a new decision. This will take several more months.
The NGO Päraküla Society and other complainants say the park will harm nature and people. They do not want the park to be built. They wish to find a better location.
